Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets about 6 oz. each, with or without skin
  • 1 1/2 tbsp sumac
  • 2 1/2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • lemon slices or wedges optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Combine the sumac, paprika, sugar, and olive oil to create a paste or rub for the salmon.
  • Pat the salmon fillets dry, then brush or spread the spice mixture over the top. Some may drip down the sides, but try to distribute evenly across the top of each piece.

Oven Cooking Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, then place the seasoned salmon skin-side down.
  • Bake for 13-15 minutes or until opaque, flaky, and cooked through. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving hot.

Air Fryer Instructions

  • Use your air fryer’s settings to preheat the basket.
  • Once preheated, place the seasoned salmon in the basket, skin side down, with at least one inch of space between each piece.
  • Cook at 350 degrees for 10 minutes, uninterrupted, or until cooked through to an internal temperature of at least 145 degrees F.
  • Rest 1-2 minutes to cool slightly, then serve hot.

Serving Suggestions

  • Option to season with salt, pepper, lemon zest, or lemon juice before serving.
  • Pair with your favorite cooked grains or vegetable side dishes.

Notes
