Homemade Muesli with California Walnuts

Ingredients

  • 3 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup chopped California Walnuts
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup dried apricots chopped
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp hemp hearts
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom
  • 1/2 tsp coarse sea salt or Maldon flaked salt

To Serve

  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup fresh fruit such as mixed berries, sliced banana, or chopped apples
  • 1 tbsp honey optional

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients into a large mixing bowl and fold together to combine.

  • Transfer to store until ready to prepare, either in a single large container or individual small containers (similar to overnight oats).
  • When ready to serve, add the dry muesli ingredients to your serving bowl. Pour in the milk, then stir to combine. Top with fresh fruit and a drizzle of honey (if using). Serve immediately.

Notes

If you prefer, you can prepare the muesli ingredients plus milk the night before. Add the fresh fruit and honey (if using) just before serving. *Honey not included in nutrition calculation
Note that the longer you allow your muesli ingredients to soak in milk, the softer the texture will be.
